Wildlife & Sporting Art

Edward Suthoff grew up in South Mississippi, near the Pascagoula River. It was there that he started duck hunting at an early age and was first inspired to sketch and paint wildlife and waterfowl.

After high school Edward began entering his paintings in his
states waterfowl stamp contest, which he won in 1993 at the
age of 22. There were 40 entries from 17 states entered
in the competition. Since then, he has entered numerous
wildlife and waterfowl stamp contest around the country.

He is an avid member of Ducks Unlimited, delta waterfowl and The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and donates both his time and art for conservation efforts. He now makes his home in Gardiner, Montana near the North entrance to the Yellowstone National Park where he is currently working on
big game animal paintings including Grizzly, Wolf, Big horn sheep, Mountain Goat and Elk. He is also planning a trip up through the NorthWest to Glazier National Park, Banff and then on to Alaska to Denali National Park where he is doing
research on the Brown Bear.

Edward was recently honored at the 30th and 31st annual Louisiana Wildfowl Festival, winning "Best of Show" and earning the title "Artist of the Year."

Edward's most recent accomplishment was winning the 2006-2007 Louisiana waterfowl stamp contest. His image of a yellow lab with mallards in flight in the background will grace the stamp that hunters and collectors will purchase for the 2006-2007 waterfowl hunting season.
