On August 31, 2010 Angela lost a long battle with cancer. She will be remembered as a valued AFC member and is sorely missed by her husband James.
Angela, who comes from Graz in Austria, developed her skills in drawing and painting from a very young age. Parallel to a commercial education and career she attended art schools both at home and in Sweden. Whilst living in Scandinavia she turned to abstract painting where she held many successful exhibitions. Angela also lived in the UK and Germany. To expand their horizons, she and her husband decided to drive across Africa. Navigating the Sahara Desert, the Central and Southern parts of the continent and after living in the CAR, Uganda, Namibia, Tanzania, Kenya and Myanmar (Burma)they now reside in Scotland. Over time, Angela's expression in art has transformed into representational painting in which her passion for people, wildlife and landscape is evident. The artist is versatile and confident with Oils, Pastels, Watercolour, Pencil and Charcoal. First-hand experiences of deep jungle, vast grasslands, open plains and bush savannah inspired Angela to extend her colour palette in an expressionistic style. The barren regions of the Kalahari and Namib deserts, in contrast to the lush green areas of the Okavango Delta, Zambezi River and source of the Nile assisted to produce her portfolio.
Exhibitions in Europe and Africa have won Angela prizes and accolades from her contemporaries and the art-loving public. Her work, featured on Austrian and Hungarian Television networks and published in the International Pastel Artist Magazine, is favoured by Royal households across the world and was on display at the annual exhibition of the Society of Wildlife Artists in the Mall Galleries, London.
