Pink Persuasion  - Ruby-throated Hummingbird by Linda Rossin
  Pink Persuasion
Subject: Ruby-throated Hummingbird
Dimensions (inches): 18 x 18
Medium: Acrylic on Ceramic Disk, Wall Hanging
Description: Working on a ceramic disk may have been an unusual experience, but a friend, who is a master ceramic artist, asked if I would do something for an upcoming show that he was about to put on for the college where he teaches. I had already completed "Kalahari King" when he asked if I would do a second disk. The glaze he used on this one appeared to me as a gnarl of vines. I wasn't sure what I was going to come up with! But after a few days of thought I decided to turn that bramble into petunia vines and blooms. In the end, I added a hummingbird ready to sip their sweet nectar. The variety and imaginations of the many other contributing artists were amazing and the exhibition was a complete success.
