This is an early plate that was prepared for the 'Birds of Peru' but it was not used. Increasing knowledge about the birds and changes in the design of the book required more illustrations of additional species and non-overlapping figures for the publication.
Vertical on the left: Purple Martin (adult male, adult female, immature male), Brown-chested Martin (2 types), Barn Swallow (adult and immature).
Vertical on the right: White-collared Swift (immature and adult), Gray-breasted Martin, Galapagos Martin (adult male and female), Peruvian Martin, and White-banded Swallow (adult and immature).
