At the Waters Edge - Tiger by Pollyanna Pickering
  At the Waters Edge  (2009)
Subject: Tiger
Dimensions (inches): 27 x 49
Medium: Gouache
Description: Pollyanna has made several journeys into India to study and sketch their most iconic big cat in the wild – the tiger. On one of her recent visits, Pollyanna chose to travel into Ranthambore, probably the best known of the tiger reserves in India, where she wanted to sketch and paint the remains of the ruined fort and temples, among which the tigers still roam. One evening she was able to sketch this tiger which came down to the water's edge to drink.

Pollyanna's charitable foundation has been very active in Tiger Conservation since it's inception. The very first fund raising appeal and exhibition in 2001 raised over £5,500.00 to buy equipment for Project Tiger, and has also provided slides and educational materials for their programme of talks and school visits in India.

The Pollyanna Pickering Foundation is currently working with The Bill Jordan Foundation to build a rehabilitation and release centre to ensure the survival of Tigers and Rhinos in Nepal. The Pollyanna Pickering Foundation is proud to have raised £9,250.00 so far towards the second stage of this project, and fund-raising is ongoing. A percentage of the sale of every original painting from Pollyanna's gallery is donated to conservation projects through the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation.
