(2010)
Subject: Himalayan monal Dimensions (inches): 18 x 12 Medium: Oil Description: Himalayan monal is one of the most irridiscent colored birds in the world. It is mostly found at treeline where there is ample cover and steep rocks and slopes. The birds usually descend to lower elevations with heavy snow to more forested areas but this bird was seen by me in Dasu Kohistan In Northern Pakistan after first snow probably about to descend. Dasu is a rugged mountain area having a wide variey of birds and animals of which Markhor and chukar, national animal and bird of Pakistan respectively are of great value.
