See Through Other Eyes: Spotted Owl - Endangered species, Spotted Owl interactive sculpture. by Ellen Woodbury
See Through Other Eyes: Spotted Owl  (2009)
Subject: Endangered species, Spotted Owl interactive sculpture.
Dimensions (inches): 55 x 19 x 19
Medium: Yule Marble on Granite and Concrete
Description: "See Through Other Eyes: Spotted Owl" was given the 2011 Peoples' Choice Award by the citizens of Loveland, CO. This inter-active sculpture invites the viewer to metaphorically and literally see through the eyes of a Spotted Owl. The back of the Owl's head is hollowed out and the eyes are drilled through, allowing one to peek through the eyes of the Owl. This endangered species is disappearing due to the over-harvesting of old-growth forest which is its habitat. This sculpture is suitable for outdoor display, currently displayed in Evergreen, CO, for one year as part of Art in the Mountain Community.
