Description: The sandstone used for this piece could as easily represent the Mojave Desert as the Sahara. For the camel is truly an ancient wanderer, originating here in North America forty million years ago, he roamed the American west from Mexico to the Yukon, until sometime during the Pleistocene he migrated across the Bering Strait to Siberia and from there, down into Asia and Africa.
