Description: Peregrine Falcons have a remarkable resiliency and adaptability. For years they were on the endangered species list, and now they are a familiar resident of many urban landscapes. I pondered how to show this speediest of all raptors in action amidst the glass and steel of mans' constructions. As with many of my picture ideas, I incubated this one for a long time, painting and repainting it in my mind. For over twenty five years I've painted the worlds' rain forests, so eliminating green from my palette in Urban Warrior was a change of pace as was taking on such a structured linear composition.
