Subject: Polar Bear Dimensions (inches): 12 x 40 Medium: Oil Description: Treading across the thin ice pack is a necessary route to take for the polar bear as it hunts for seals in the vast expanse of the frozen Arctic. As Summer approaches the ice begins to melt, the ice pack lessens and provides a much thinner platform for the polar bear.
The largest land predator in the world has to maintain it's body weight and fat reserves through the Summer and brief Autumn season, awaiting the perilous freeze of winter. However, the winter months will provide the most fertile hunting period as the ice expands and allows for more opportunities for the polar bear to seek out their staple diet of seal.
