Subject: Otter Dimensions (inches): 11 x 31 Medium: Acrylic Description: Camping in the Adirondack region of Old Forge in New York State provided the idea for this painting. I was wading along the shore of the Moose River photographing a hen Common Merganser and her new hatchlings when I looked across the river and saw a lone otter awakening from his morning nap. He disappeared in to the water as soon as we both looked at each other but I tried to create the feeling of that moment in this artwork.
