Subject: Racoon Dimensions (inches): 20 x 24 Description: I was walking in the early morning fog on the edge of a meadow of a local wildlife refuge when I was startled by a shaking of leaves in the upper levels of a group of maple trees. Looking up ward I saw a racoon climb up a dead branch of a maple tree in search of the light from the morning sun and when it found a safe spot it stopped and just grazed across the meadow. The misty quality of the morning light made it impossible to photograph but the scene inspired me to portray it on canvas
