Yellowthroat Warbler Study
(2004)
Dimensions (inches): 10.5 x 13 Medium: Graphite & Watercolour Description: These attractive little warblers frequent the waterfront near my studio, and while they are quite common they are rather secretive and seldom seen. I take great delight in searching them out, and at times am lucky enough to locate a nest which affords ample opportunity to observe first hand their comings and goings. This study, done life-size, attempts to describe something of the jaunty character and 'grace in miniature' of these birds. The original form of this piece, done several years ago was purely a study in pencil, until recent observations led me to add a coloured figure to the arrangement.
