Subject: Lazy B milk house Dimensions (inches): 5.5 x 4.5 Medium: Oil on Russian Birch Description: The Lazy B Ranch lies down a winding track that ends in a secluded valley in the Oak Ridge moraine region of Ontario. Between the house and the gallery is the original white-washed stone structure of the milk house. Over time a nearby tree has grown into an enormous spreading giant, and the milk house now appears to be snuggling up close like a lifelong friend. I've seen this in all seasons, but with a freshly fallen snow and beautiful winter light, I was finally prompted to paint this relationship. Once again I am surprised by the momentary, and often fleeting nature of an experience that tips the scale from no painting to painting.
