Subject: Flour Mill Interior & doves Dimensions (inches): 8.25 x 8.25 Medium: Oil on Prepared Panel Description: Stepping across the threshold into the cool interior of the mill I was immediately aware of the sudden retreat of outside sounds. A little further into the room, and the air cooled, the light softened, and a sense of privacy instilled itself. Amid the softly filtered light, and the deep velvet shadows, I seemed to feel myself being absorbed into that humble space, becoming at once observer and observed. Later, while working on this piece, I was constantly aware of an odd conviction that I was somehow part of the things I was describing in paint.
