Subject: American Tree Sparrow Dimensions (inches): 4.5 x 4.5 Medium: Oil Description: Sparrows are a favourite subject of mine, partly because I see them so often, and partly because in spite of that fact they are often overlooked as suitable subjects in art. By presenting this American Tree Sparrow life-sized within a relatively close space without room for distraction I hoped to draw attention to the very beautiful aspects of what is often considered to be a 'drab' family of birds.
