Subject: Mexican burro Dimensions (inches): 8 x 8 Medium: Oil Description: This sleepy little burro dozing in the Mexican sun might seem exactly as one would expect in that environment, yet he struck me somehow as being quite extraordinary. By painting him in his own space free from all associated surroundings I hoped to emphasize this very notion. Barely suggested earth and a painted space awash in sunlight mimics the reduced awareness this animal has of his surroundings while he is half asleep.
