Description: A touching book will be published in the near future to bring attention to shelter animals and their adoption. Here is a brief description from the editors:
'We greatly appreciate all of the artists and animal rescuers who have worked with us over the past two years to bring more attention to the plight of shelter animals in dire need of a good home. Our book will include stories of dogs and cats depicted through artwork of "Dreams" that have already come true after adoption and of "Dreams" of those still languishing behind shelter walls..... to be illustrated through artwork from over sixty of some of the best and highly recognized animal artists in the world. Any net profits that may result will go to reputable animal causes.
'Furthermore, we are honored and highly gratified that several well known celebrities have agreed to participate. Here is a list of just a few: Cesar Millan,(The Dog Whisperer), Beth Stern, (wife of Howard Stern), Koko the gorilla, Animal Advocate, Jill Rappaport formerly of The Today Show, Doris Day, and most recently Mr. Al Roker, meteorologist and a regular on The Today Show for many years.'
As a participating artist I was asked if I would consider painting Yoda, Beth and Howard Stern's cat. I didn't commit to this commission until I read Yoda's story. "A Kitten for Yoda" is now in the collection of Mr. & Mrs. Stern, and 50% of the retail price was donated to Bianca's Furry Friends to aid shelter animals.
