Hilton Head Tidal Flats - Low tide at Hilton Head by David Rankin
  Hilton Head Tidal Flats  (2003)
Subject: Low tide at Hilton Head
Dimensions (inches): 7 x 9
Medium: Transparent Watercolor on ArchesŪ 140lb.
Description: I love the designs Nature makes in estuaries as the tide flows in and out as in this early morning landscape looking out over the mud flats on Hilton Head Island. Herons, Egrets, and shorebirds of all kinds work these mud flats in a cycle of Nature that has been going on throughout time. And the natural flow of sea water in and out of the wetlands carves undulating channels in the soft mud. It's the same along the Atlantic Coast, the Florida/Gulfcoast, and the tidal flats of India's Sundarbans and Thailand's Phung Nga region.
