Subject: Rock Wren Dimensions (inches): 16 x 12 Medium: acrylic on board Description: On a trip to create a plein air painting and do some sketching late in the summer I was doing some hiking along the South Saskatchewan River in southern Alberta where I happened to stumble across some of these large Wrens. This was the first time I was able to observe Rock Wrens and it was very interesting to me when one of them perched on a small ledge overlooking the river. Below the Wren in this painting the cliff drops to close to seventy five feet or more to the river below.
