Kosciuszko's Side - Wild Australian Brumbies by Sandi Lear
  Kosciuszko's Side  (2017)
Subject: Wild Australian Brumbies
Dimensions (inches): 0 x 0
Medium: Watercolour
Description: Mount Kociuszko, Australia's highest mountain is home to the wild horses known as 'Brumbies'. Their story is similar to the wild Mustangs of the USA, these horses were introduced and have been roaming wild in the high country for some 150 years. Immortalised in Banjo Patterson's 'Man from Snowy River', they are now in danger from being exterminated by the government of New South Wales. Many high country men and women are taming and rehoming those they can. Like all of us, these horses are adaptable, survivable. They live in the high harsh alpine country, in snow, sleet, the wild short lived grasses of summer…and have huge capacity for companionship, let's trust there will always be a 'mate' at Kosciuszko's side.
