(1993)
Subject: Alaskan tundra landscape Dimensions (inches): 7.5 x 11.5 Medium: Watercolour and ink Description: Three million western sandpipers arrive on the Seward Peninsula to breed each spring. They have flown from as far away as South America for a chance to nest. I visited the Seward Peninsula to assist a graduate student establish a field camp to study the sandpipers in 1993. This painting was a field sketch I completed as a storm approached.
