Acrylic Painting
Small Birds and Botanicals
Two things that go great together. These paintings are usually smaller and more detailed. Some of my most enjoyable time spent painting are with these small works due to the intimate size and cheerful subject matter.
America The Beautiful
Art from my treks across the USA. Stressing the importance of habitat protection and wildlife corridors. This emphasis on providing space and protecting food and nesting sources will allow us to live peacefully alongside our fellow Earthlings.
Birds of Prey
Birds of prey are what I see in my head of when I think of the idea of "Wilderness." These creatures live on no one else's terms but their own. Apex predators such as falcons, eagles and ospreys keep all living things in check by culling and scavenging the dead and sick, thereby strengthening gene lines and ensuring a clean environment for all. This is one of the many reasons we must work to protect and respect them.
Wading Birds
Because I live in watery, swampy Southwest Florida, I am always just a short walk away from some type of wading bird. I find great inspiration in them for my art.
Florida Everglades
The Everglades is near and dear to my heart. I live here and this is where I feel a common bond with the universe. Almost all of my best paintings are done about and in the Everglades.
These underwater paintings are usually a little looser than my land paintings. Water lends itself to this style since it is always moving, reflecting and changing.
