Subject: Bird, heron Dimensions (inches): 7 x 14 Medium: Oil on canvas Description: On a visit to the Slimbridge Wetlands Centre, Glos, UK I saw this heron stalking the waters one winter afternoon. The water was dark under the shadow of thick surrounding vegetation and bushes and the light fell onto the pale plumage of the bird making such a striking image of contrast that I couldn't wait to paint it.
