Subject: Hedgehog Dimensions (inches): 6 x 8 Description: It is believed that there are around one million hedgehogs left in the UK, this number has dropped from two million in the mid 90's. The hedgehog hibernates from November through to March then emerge to ‘feed up' in preparation for mating season. The hedgehog can have up to two litters per year with 5-7 young per litter. The young are not born with spines instead they have hairs that develop into spines. It is believed an adult hedgehog has 6000 spines on their back.
