The Marsh Fritillary is one of our most threatened species in N.Ireland and indeed globally they are listed as Vulnerable facing a high risk of extinction in the wild. The biggest risk to this species is from habitat loss or inappropriate land management. The Butterfly Conservation organisation is working to help protect their important breeding grounds.
