Subject: Nipponia nippon Dimensions (centimeters): 50 x 40 Medium: Acrylic Description: Once wildsread in East Asian, the Crested Ibis in now one of the most endengous bird. The last wild Japanese Creste Ibis died in 2003 and the last remaining wild population can be found only in Shaanxi provinice of China. The Chinese population was thought to be extinct through the 1960s and 1970s while seven indivuduals were found in Shaanxi in 1981. The populatin revived to several hundred due to a successful conservation program.
