Snow Leopard
(2006)
Subject: Snow leopard - Big Cats Dimensions (inches): 20 x 32 Medium: Oil on Canvas Description: Generally found at elevations between 3,000 - 4,500 m, the snow leopard's hunting terrain is incredibly rugged and barren, consisting mainly of broken cliffs, ridges, gullies and rocky outcrops and in order to hunt successfully in this terrain the snow leopard's body has had to adapt perfectly – the smokey gray and sienna tinged fur gives superb camouflage, long body hair protects against extreme cold and the large chest and enlarged nasal cavity warms the cold air breathed in! The snow leopard is possibly the most perfectly adapted cat.
I hope you think this painting captures at least some of the snow leopards beauty
