Details: "This unique pose of two mating snails reflects the symmetry of this interlude and union. Circular curves of snail shells inspired me to sculpt these often, overlooked creatures. Initially, I sculpted Courtship from Utah alabaster and then felt compelled to replicate the coloration of stone in a bronze patina." Courtship was chosen for the 2006 Society of Animal Artists Art and the Animal Exhibition and also, accepted into Bennington Center for the Arts 2008 Art of the Animal XIII. Courtship has been selected by the National Sculpture Society for the 76th Annual Exhibition and tour here in 2009. NSS awarded the sculpture the 2009 C.
