Hunting, Pups and All
Subject: AfricanWild Dogs Dimensions (centimeters): 39 x 71 Medium: Oil Description: While visiting Botswana I had a once in a life time experience with wild dogs. I felt so lucky, as they are so rare, to begin with, and to actually see them at their den with their pups 2 days running was remarkable enough. On the third day as the adults took off to hunt the pups began to follow and however hard the adults tried to distract them they kept following. We drove along in the safari vehicle at quite a fast pace and the pups kept up with the pack but when the time came to chase down a red lechwe one of the adults stayed back with the pups while the hunt was on. The pack would not go back to the den, but would resume its nomadic life, pups and all. How lucky was I to see this!
